All of the documents, including Fishery Information Documents, the Advisory Panel’s Fishery Performance Report, and staff recommendations for 2015-2017 Atlantic Mackerel, Squid, and Butterfish (MSB) Acceptable Biological Catches (ABC) have been posted to the May 7-8 Scientific and Statistical Committee meeting webpage: http://www.mafmc.org/ssc-meetings/2014/may-7-8-2014.
As a reminder about the process, once the SSC meets and provides ABC recommendations, then the Monitoring Committee (NMFS MSB technical staff and myself) meets (May 13 and May 27 – see the upcoming events section of our homepage http://www.mafmc.org/) to develop recommendations for the Council on the various MSB management components given the SSC’s recommendations. The Monitoring Committee will also discuss and make recommendations regarding the river herring and shad cap for the mackerel fishery.
