A few notes…

2013 Specifications:

The MSB Advisory Panel’s Fishery Performance Meeting Summary is contained within the staff 2013 Specifications/ABC Memo to the SSC. That and other reference materials for the May 23-24 SSC meeting in Baltimore (http://www.mafmc.org/meetings/meetings.htm) are online at: http://www.mafmc.org/meeting_materials/SSC/2012-05/SSC_2012_05.htm.

The MSB Monitoring Committee (Council and NMFS Staff) will meet on May 31, 9am-1pm to provide recommendations for 2013 specifications and management measures after ABCs are provided by the SSC. This unfortunately coincides with the Herring AP meeting but because of the SSC schedule, other conflicts, and the Council mail-out schedule, this was the day it had to take place. It will be a webinar with registration available at: https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/474223601.

Amendment 14:

Amendment 14 hearings are ongoing and also listed at the first meeting link above.

May 22 will be the Joint Am14 FMAT and Am5 PDT meeting in Warwick, RI (http://www.nefmc.org/herring/meeting_notice/120522_pdt_fmat.pdf). This meeting will address consistency and feasibility issues with these two amendments. A webinar option will be available: https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/819637488.

We’re tentatively planning a ½ day meeting on June 8 via webinar for the MSB Committee and the MSB Advisory Panel to review the alternatives in Amendment 14, review public comment, and get input for the Committee from the Advisory Panel. More details to come but I wanted to flag the date for folks.

Both 2013 Specifications and Amendment 14 actions are expected at the June 12-14 Council meeting. More details to follow…

All for now,
Thanks,
Jason
